Certifications

While earning a doctorate involves many years of rigorous training beyond a bachelor’s degree, I’ve also pursued additional certifications to deepen my expertise and better serve my clients. I believe that continued learning allows me to offer the most up-to-date, effective care—because you deserve support that’s rooted in both compassion and the latest research.

Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor

Signifies a professional trained and certified to guide individuals in reconnecting with their body’s natural cues around hunger, fullness, and satisfaction. Grounded in the evidence-based framework developed by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, this certification ensures that the counselor has a deep understanding of the 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating and is equipped to support clients in healing their relationship with food, body image, and movement—without dieting or restriction.

Certified Eating Disorder Specialist – #7013

This credential is awarded by the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp). It recognizes licensed professionals—such as therapists, dietitians, and medical providers—who have demonstrated advanced clinical expertise, specialized training, and a strong commitment to the treatment of eating disorders. Holding a CEDS designation signals that a provider has met rigorous standards and is dedicated to evidence-based, compassionate care for individuals and families impacted by eating disorders.

My Approach

I believe in taking a holistic approach to mental health, addressing not only the symptoms but also the underlying factors contributing to your distress. Through a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques, we’ll work together to develop coping strategies, challenge negative thoughts and beliefs, and foster a healthier relationship with food and your body.

In addition to my dedication to evidence-based therapies, I am proudly aligned with the Health At Every Size (HAES) movement and am a certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. This means that I approach therapy with a weight-inclusive and non-dieting perspective, recognizing that health and well-being come in all shapes and sizes. I believe in empowering individuals to trust their body’s wisdom, honor their hunger and fullness cues, and cultivate a peaceful relationship with food and their bodies. Together, we’ll explore your unique journey towards intuitive eating and body acceptance, fostering self-compassion and body respect along the way.

This approach ensures that my clients receive the highest standard of treatment, tailored to their specific needs and goals. In my practice, I specialize in fostering healthy relationships with food and body image. I understand the complex interplay between emotions, behaviors, and self-perception when it comes to eating habits and body image, and I strive to empower individuals to develop a positive and balanced relationship with both. Whether it’s overcoming disordered eating patterns, addressing body dysmorphia, or promoting mindful eating practices, I work collaboratively with clients to achieve sustainable improvements in their overall well-being.

Focus on Eating and Anxiety

I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported in their journey towards better health and well-being. Through compassionate listening and evidence-based techniques, I empower individuals to explore and transform their relationship with food and body, addressing underlying issues such as anxiety that may contribute to unhealthy behaviors. By integrating therapeutic approaches that consider the mind-body connection, I help clients develop resilience and coping strategies, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-acceptance. My goal is not only to help clients achieve immediate improvements but also to equip them with the tools and insights necessary for long-term wellness and fulfillment. Together, we work towards building a healthier, more positive relationship with food, body, and self, promoting holistic health across all stages of life.
